Everything you did yesterday still works with no account: BLE, Wi-Fi and Ethernet projects, the sample runs, CRA readiness, your own model keys. A free account is a key to the knowledge that needs one, nothing more.
No card, no subscription. Register with GitHub or email, inside the extension, when a card asks you to.

What it unlocks

  • LTE-M / NB-IoT gateway: a Fanstel LEW840x with BLE in and cellular out, one code base.
  • Satellite NB-NTN bring-up on the nRF9151: attach, timing, and what a satellite link costs you.
  • nRF91 modem bring-up: attach on your SIM and APN, AT recipes, PSM and eDRX tuning.
  • nRF54 edge-AI basics.
  • The LEW840x gateway firmware: signed images (a BLE scanner, an ESP32 uplink, an nRF9160 cellular bearer), free to flash and evaluate. Wi-Fi and Ethernet run without limit; cellular runs in 60-minute sessions. Licensed source per module is available on request from Settings › Account. See gateway firmware.
A card that needs the account says so before you click it, and says which of these it opens. A task that reaches a piece of knowledge your account cannot open keeps going, says which piece it went without, and still credits whoever wrote it.

How sign-in works

  1. Click Register on a locked card. Your browser opens; choose GitHub or email.
  2. Sign in there. The extension never sees a password: the browser hands back a one-time code, and the token it exchanges for stays in your operating system’s keychain.
  3. Come back to the editor. The card you clicked is open, and the panel says what is unlocked.
Being offline is not a sign-out. Only a revoked session signs you out.

What stays on your machine

Your projects, your logs, your project memory in .adsum/, and your free-tier allowance. The account carries your email, what it has unlocked, and any request you made for template source. See privacy and security.

  • What your account has unlocked, in words.
  • Request template source for a gateway family. It is a form, not a button: the answer depends on what you are building.
  • Sign out, which locks cellular knowledge again on this machine and touches nothing else.
  • Delete your account, which removes everything keyed on you and leaves this machine’s projects, logs and free-tier allowance untouched.
